Optical DO Measurement Certified by NJDEP

The Meadowlands Research & Restoration Institute (MRRI) has officially received New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) certification for dissolved oxygen (DO) measurement using the luminescence-based method SM 4500-O H-21, marking an important milestone in the laboratory’s quality assurance and regulatory compliance efforts.
Following a comprehensive on-site audit conducted in October 2025, the NJDEP Office of Quality Assurance completed its review of MRRI’s corrective action plan and supporting documentation and formally granted certification, as reflected in MRRI’s updated Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Certified Parameter List, effective January 21, 2026. This certification authorizes MRRI to report NJ-compliant DO data using optical sensor technology and further strengthens the Institute’s capacity to support high-quality water monitoring and environmental assessment across New Jersey’s aquatic systems.
