The New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority (NJSEA) has upgraded the Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) system to the latest technology for the Meadowlands Research & Restoration Institute (MRRI) laboratory. From July 8-10, 2024, a field engineer from Agilent Technologies installed the new Agilent 7850 ICP-MS and provided training on this state-of-the-art instrument and its updated software. With the new Data Analysis application, quality assurance and control for metal analysis will be easier and more efficient.
This upgraded instrument will allow MRRI researchers to collect even more accurate data on trace metal concentrations and variations in water, sediment, and biota within the Meadowlands district. The improved capabilities of the Agilent 7850 ICP-MS will also strengthen MRRI’s research about the fate and transport of trace metals in ecosystems.
